character.
CHARACTER NAME: Tachigami
SERIES: Okami
CANON POINT: Post-game, but pre-Okamiden
APPEARANCE: Squeak... and squeak? Her human form looks like that of a petite young girl, around 10-12 years old. The red markings on her body and clothing represent her godhood; only those with belief in gods/spirits can see them. Otherwise, she looks normal to the naked eye, save for retaining the mouse ears in her human appearance.
DESIRED CLASS & REASONING:
Blade Brandier. This choice is based more on Tachigami's signature brush technique, Power Slash rather than the Edge Crusher sized sword. It is performed in game by drawing a straight, horizontal line across a target using what the game refers to as the Celestial brush and ink. It does not deal as much damage compared to the other brush skills, and in most cases an enemy has to be rendered vulnerable in order to be used efficiently. It does make for a surprisingly versatile technique to outside of battle however (slicing treasure chests, rocks, scrolls, etc.), matching up with the well-rounded build of a Blade Brandier.
PREVIOUSLY IN HOLYRELIC:(ONLY FOR PREVIOUS PLAYERS FROM HR'S LAST INCARNATION!)
PERSONALITY:
Tachigami represents the mouse of the zodiac and thirteen Brush Gods, who serve under the sun goddess Amaterasu and refer to her as their Mother. Like her siblings, Tachi has a strong sense of duty and responsibility. Half-hearted isn’t in her vocabulary, and she's quite methodical in her tasks. She has a slight air of audacity, coming from years of experience and godly. Still, they're meant to help people with their abilities. While slicing things in two is not exactly at majestic as wind fire, etc., she's a resourceful girl. In fact, she's likely to use for own personal convenience when available.
However, Tachi is not as formal as one would expect. In game, when the brush gods reunite with Amaterasu after a centuries-long absence, they give her the title “Amaterasu, origin of all that is good and mother to us all”. Even the gods who spontaneously attacked her did that. Tachi is one of two exceptions to it. Instead, she greet the wolf with “Well, well, well... if it isn’t Mother Amaterasu,” Rather than be an archaic poet, she prefers a more direct, if not somewhat whimsical way of speaking. While it's better at getting her feelings and point across, her honest attitude can lead to her coming off as a sharp-witted, precocious brat.
On the topic of difficult kids, Tachi can certainly be one, despite her actual age. In her world, it requires ea considerable amount of faith and spiritual fervor to recognize and have contact with the gods. As a result, she isn't used to true face to face communication with others. She keeps to her own agenda, and even to her family she doesn't easily divulge her personal issues. Her devotion to her goals lead to something of perfectionist mode that others may have difficulty stopping. It comes from her desire to be taken seriously by everyone, even if it requires aggression. So yes, the cute rodent has a bite. But to those she opens up to, she'll treat them like family and fiercely stay at their side.

FIRST-PERSON SAMPLE:
[In a sea of players and NPCs, this little mouse has found a way to escape being swept away by the crowds. She's sitting atop a ledge of some sort, looking below to where the Relic had fallen during her climb]
There's so many people...
[Her wide eyes hint at her awe. With the way she's peering at passerby, it's easy to tell she's looking for someone. The height of her position may be an improvement to the ground floor, but her efforts prove unsuccessful. She sighs and rests her head in her hands]
Chuu... You think they'd stick out a bit more. I guess not.
[She pushes off and lands onto a nearby box. She picks up her Relic and starts the process of making her way through the street.]
THIRD-PERSON SAMPLE:
Light footsteps tread through the meadow grass, with a gentle breeze at her back. As interesting as the bustle of Mac Anu was, Tachi would still prefer the areas and the out-of-the-way atmosphere they give. She was once called a "country mouse", and it was true. Some places brought back the sweet memories of home, like Hana Valley or Tsuta Ruins. She's always wanted to go on an adventure through those places like her mother, and this was close. A tiny bit of her envied that freedom back then.
The pleasant walk won't last though. An enemy spawns, baring claws at the girl. There's a more recent memory coming back, one mentioning that this place had higher leveled monsters. She's not worried though, and draws her blade. Harder foes meant a more interesting fight, and maybe even treasure. Unwieldy as this body felt sometimes to her, she trusted in being able to flee when things got rough also. Pretty scenery and good experience... She should keep note of the area words for future reference.
